Sunsum Pavilion

David Adajye was commissioned by the Johannesburg Development Agency to design a pavilion for the upgrades to Park Station in Johannesburg, a major railway hub in the inner city.

Parts & Labour worked on a detailed plan for the construction and installation of the pavilion to be made from sustainably sourced modified wood, suitable for the technical requirements of such a complex structure, in addition to the needs for a durable low maintenance building material located in a busy and often chaotic transport hub.

The project was never realised due to institutional setbacks.
